I’m Jackie, an ultra runner from Perth, Australia.


I have just qualified for A Category World champs 100km at the Australia Day Ultra based in Australind last weekend. (I broke the course record and came first overall) I qualified for 50km World champs in 2020 and I’m also a sponsored Comrades Marathon 90km athlete. I love trail too!!

What Inspires You

I started running 8 years ago when my son was born to lose post pregnancy weight. I want to be a good role model for my son and inspire other people starting to run later in life that it is never too late. I run with a bunch of mums who continue to inspire me every day as we fit running into our busy schedule.

Big Goals

To compete at both the 50km and 100km world champs. A Comrades gold medal would also be a dream come true.

Nutrition Tips

Don’t over-hydrate on an ultra marathon, drink to thirst but often. Practice your nutrition before the big day so that your body gets used to it. Drink protein shakes at night before you go to bed because that is when recovery takes place. Eat good quality carbs, protein and enjoy your treats especially while training for an ultra, because you can 😉
