Hey there, my name is Kris and I'm an amateur runner from Adelaide, Australia.

Achievements

In 2018, I was 140kg and not active at all. Across 2 years, I lost 70kgs and developed a taste for the physical lifestyle. Last year, I raced in 5x 10km, 1x 15km events whilst taking part in 4x 10km virtual, virtual City2Surf and 2x HM virtual races. Best achievement was finishing 1st in 2 physical 10km races and generally finishing within the top 5% of every race I have undertaken thus far. This year, I am planning on competing in several HM with more physical races throughout the year as well.

What Inspires You

As a father of young children, being able to keep up with them and become a healthier role model is my goal. Everything I do from here on out, is not only for myself but also my family.

Big Goals

I am building up to being able to travel and compete in events around Australia. I accept that I will never out pace most athletes who have been training and running their whole life. But considering what I have been able to achieve in such a small amount of time, any race I finish is a win!

Nutrition Tips

Warming up and stretching before and after a run is key. This gets the blood flowing and muscles going. Hydration before and after is a must. Nothing worse then in the middle of a run and feeling dry in the tank. It's a struggle to perform and compete in this situation.
