Hi, I’m Sidney Shaw. I am a race walker from Canberra, Australia.


I have attended 7 national championships with the most recent being the 2021 Australian Track and Field Championships. I competed in the women’s under 18 5km race walk and placed 5th with a 3 minute season best. I have also been the ACT state champion for my age group since 2019. I am currently training for the next nationals and state championships.

What Inspires You

I am inspired by Alana Barber from New Zealand and Evan Dunfee from Canada. I have been able to train with both of these incredible athletes and have taken away so many beneficial tips from their advice.

Big Goals

My big goal is to one day compete in the Olympics and represent Australia at the highest level.

Nutrition Tips

As an endurance athlete with Crohn’s disease, I find that nutrition is just as vital as training. I have found that having a good routine for pre-race nutrition has helped me perform to my best. My routine consists of having a meal a few hours before my race, and following that up with electrolytes and small snacks.
